Dr. Shantha Stokes, PsyD, MA, LPC-S
As a licensed clinician I empower individuals and families to discover and utilize tools to achieve their goals toward good emotional health. Counseling goals are identified and made in collaboration with the client; and services are delivered in a way that acknowledges clients' cultural context and supports clients' individual values. I seek to honor clients' individual faith perspectives and support important family values. In my nineteen years of experience as a therapist, I have worked with clients from diverse backgrounds with an array of concerns. I have a particular interest in working with families that are faced with the challenges of blending, adoption and/or foster parenting. I also enjoy working with children and adolescents that are exhibiting disruptive behaviors, are struggling with inattention and children who have survived abuse and neglect. I also provide services for adults and children who may be experiencing grief, depression, stress or have experienced / witnessed a traumatic event. I also enjoy working with clients who are seeking supportive feedback or who want to improve on an area of strength.
